Bruxelles

I attempted to post these last night but I guess it didn't work... I went to Brussels with Rotary and a whole bunch of other exchange students and we walked around and saw all of the important buildings in Brussels. The architecture is just incredible! With some color tweaking on Photoshop, the things that matter really stand out and details are wonderfully accentuated. Enjoy! I think it's great work for the day!

Full Moons and Happy Hearts

Today was a tough day for me, but it ended up a high note, especially looking out over the Belgian landscape, which is beautiful to begin with, and seeing this wonderful full moon. I made sure to grab my camera before it got too dark and shot a few photos. They turned out lovely and I didn't even have to edit them :) Ahhh the wonders of natural beauty...

Ahhh Brugge...

This is a picture from the lovely city of Brugge and the giant cathedral that stands tall and proud in the middle of it. I was just standing at the base and when I looked up, I realized that the lamp post was in a perfect place so I shot a couple pictures in the middle of the busy streets of Brugge. With some color enhancements, I think it makes for a very nice picture :)

Pretty Belgian Pictures :)

So here are my first pictures that I shot and edited in Belgium. These are all from around the house that I'm staying at. I took some time today and shot about 60 photos. Which, for me, is not very many, but I didn't have a whole lot of time. I came out with some beautiful pictures and editing them really made them special. My favorite is definitely the top one with the ladder. I am satisfied with what I have done today :)

Photos From Belgium!!! Sorta...

So I was all ready to post my first pictures from Belgium when Blogger decided that it wasn't going to let me post my new ones. Oh well I think this one is pretty cool :) This is from the plane (obviously) just before we started our descent into Brussels (or Bruxelles en français). The clouds are incredible from overhead. Too bad I was so limited by the size, and cleanliness, of the plane window. But I think I came out with a pretty good picture!

Childhood Memories...

This is the nice apple tree in our backyard with the lovely plastic yellow swing that has been there since I was a little girl. My sister and I, along with our cousins, used to live on this swing. It was a big part of our childhood. Even now, we use it every now and then and our friends love it! Well, more like the inner child in every single one of us :) I used Photoshop to make the entire background black and white and enhanced the color of the tree, changing all kinds of levels and saturations and contrasts, etc. I think it really makes the green of the leaves and yellow of the swing stand out. I like the final product :)

Photoshop vs. Picnik

So I have discovered that you can do much more on Picnik than just add words to a picture. There are some pretty cool features on it. And I'm sure these are all features that you can also do on Photoshop, but I am fairly new to the whole photo editing world (I typically just shoot and print 'em) and I am still learning how to use my editing software! This is a picture of me! :) It is actually one of my senior pictures (my friend and I took them together) and I really wanted a lot of dancing pictures and this was one that I really liked. Of course, like all good photographers, I felt the need to tweak it to make it extra special. So this is one picture that I did on Picnik rather than Photoshop. Actually that's a lie. First I edited it on Photoshop, and changed the colors and saturations and definition and highlights and all that. But then I uploaded it to Picnik and did that really sweet tunnel effect on it. I really like the way it turned out. Thank you to both!

Seeing Red. In A Good Way!!

I just really couldn't resist posting this one. This is a picture of my corsage and my date's boutonniere for Prom when I was a junior in high school. I went at it with Photoshop and just loved the way it turned out when I pulled all the color out of it except the red. It really pops :) We were entirely in black and white except for those flowers. It was quite lovely hehe :)

Lovely Coffee

So these are pictures of my delicious caramel mocha with whipped cream that I got at a local coffee shop in my city. I had wayyy too much fun with my camera hehe And then even more fun with Photoshop! :)

Beach and Clouds... A Lovely Combination

Last winter break, my family and I took a vacation to Disney World (I love Disney!!). On the way back we stopped at this beach that we used to stop at every time we went down to Florida, which was every summer. These are some of the pictures that I took and a few of them I edited to add some interest. The people you see are my mom, dad, and sister. Enjoy!

A Tea Calls For Flowers

So here are some flowers from my grandmother's 75th birthday. We threw her a surprise tea party and all the tables were adorned with these beautiful floral centerpieces. Of course, this was a perfect opportunity for me and I jumped on that with my camera right away, getting weird looks from the old ladies as I shot picture after picture after picture of the same colorful daisy :) Thanks to my mad skills (hehe) and Photoshop, I think I made some really beautiful artwork!
